🍻 Out-and-back from The Emerson to Woodstock Brewing (2.4 miles round trip on Route 28)
🥞 Out-and-back from The Emerson to Phoenicia Diner(4 miles round trip on Route 28)
🚂 Loop from The Emerson to the Empire State Railway Museum, over the Esopus Creek to downtown Phoenicia, and back along Plank Road (8 miles total, challenging)

Join us for a fun day of reading, writing, and creating! 📚

Picture book author and illustrator Nancy Scofield Stewart will read a few of her books, including Little Fred and Big Jake and The ABC’s of the Erie Canal.

Each story will welcome the audience to express themselves: to be heard, seen, and give them the ability to listen to others’ ideas. Nancy will also demonstrate some techniques in illustration that children may want to explore themselves.

As a retired kindergarten teacher, it is Nancy’s goal to enhance children’s literacy through awareness and help them actively enjoy the art of reading and listening to storybooks.
