After 22 years Linda and I will be starting a new chapter in our lives. We finalized the sale of Hummingbird Hideaway Resort this afternoon and are packed to head to Texas in the morning. We have mixed emotions about this. We are really going to miss all the great guests and local residents as many have become lifelong friends. Thank you all! I will definitely miss Norfork Lake that has given me many hours of pleasure over the years. But we are also extremely excited about our retirement and to be able to spend more time with our daughter, son-in-law and 3 grandkids. We will be relocating back to Texas in the Lake Conroe area north of Houston.
The new owners are excited to get into the resort life and plan to continue operating Hummingbird Hideaway as a family/fishing resort. Again, thanks for your support and friendship. We will look forward to seeing you on facebook.
PS: my last fishing tip for Norfork Lake is that there is a good topwater bite for largemouth and spotted bass. I found them and my current guests are still catching them part way up river from Cranfield to Redbank. They start coming up at sunrise and it is lasting a couple of hours. They are not monsters, yet, but a blast to catch. Happy fishing!
