You did it!

Thanks to everyone who came out, donated, bought food and raffle tickets, and helped make our Back to School Supply Drive such a success, we raised enough to give 12 Camp Sunflower campers $100 each to help with back-to-school expenses!

That means 12 young people will get to decide what they need most to start the school year -- whether that’s a backpack and notebooks, new shoes, clothes that help them feel like themselves, or something else entirely. 🚌

A huge thank you to Ashley Erwin, who dreamed up this fundraiser and chose to make her birthday celebration an opportunity to support our incredible campers! Thank you to MK Hawk from the Hawk's Nest for helping organize and host the event, and to Eric Nachtigal for helping bring it all together and cooking the incredible food that kept everyone fed!

Also a huge shout-out to the Camp Sunflower staff and board members that helped facilitate games and sell raffle tickets! Thank you Micala Gi-g, May, Avery Ash, Kelsy Gossett Dennis, and Tommy Nguyen!

And, of course, thank you to every person who showed up, celebrated, and gave generously.

We believe deeply in a community that shows up for one another --and this is what that looks like.

Hey camp fam! Looking for a way to get rid of some old stuff and create some q***r joy?

Camp Sunflower 2026: Q***rious Cryptids starts in just over a week, and we have an ask of our community - especially if you're near Wichita!

Q***r youth are masters of transformation - of themselves, of their communities, and of ... stuffed animals! This year, one of our activities will invite campers to transform some stuffed animals into new q***riously cryptid creations! And, we need some raw materials to work with!

If you have stuffed animals (or similar items like dolls that have at least some soft/fabric parts) that you don't want anymore - we want them! We are looking for any sizes, shapes, and conditions including well-loved!

You won't get them back, but we promise to share photos of the delightful finished products. Message here or at [email protected] if you have some to donate. We can arrange for pick-up or drop-off near Wichita. Thank you!
