Well, in the news feed this morning of my personal FB page, the memory popped up of my posting, in turn, these two pictures on the last two New Year's Eve days. How wonderful it is that this New Year's Eve day, it does not feel the same!

Happy New Year, everyone! Make it a great one!

Effective March 1, 2022, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (PRNL) is no longer a fee-free unit of the National Park System. To visit, you will need to purchase a park pass. Which you may... either a 7-day or an annual pass... by using the link I've attached.

I know the new owners of the Terrace don't make use of this page... and also that people continue to like & follow it... even though it's been about a year since I sold the Terrace and stopped posting. Still, this is important information for you to have, if you're planning a visit, so I want to make sure you have it.

I understand not everyone will welcome this change, and some may even be angered by it. But, given the massive increase in visitation to PRNL in recent years... the resulting strain on staff, infrastructure, visitor experience, and the natural resource of PRNL itself... the funding the visitor fee will provide will be a great help.

Think of it this way, and ask yourself... for less than the cost of dinner & a drink or two, on just one night for just one person, at your favorite local restaurant or bar, here or at home, plus tip... isn't paying an entrance fee to help PRNL worth it?

You can purchase your park entrance passes anytime: 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Just use this link: https://www.recreation.gov/sitepass/74999 or scan the QR code on the photo.
For other federal lands passes, learn more at: https://www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.htm

To be in contact with the new owners of the Terrace, please don't message this page. It doesn't appear they intend to make use of it, so your message will get, not to them, but me. I can't help you any longer with questions or reservations.

This page will just stand as a record of my time at the Terrace.

Instead, please use the Terrace's phone number & email... 906.387.2735... [email protected]... which now belong to them, not to me. Those should connect you with the new owners, for reservations you'd like and questions you have.

Thank you, Larry

Putting a wrap on my time at the Terrace. This is the last... well, I thought ;-) ... post I'll place on this page. Soon, the Terrace will belong to new owners.

The pictures... My housekeepers, minus one, and me, at a gathering last evening to celebrate our time together. And one last of yours truly at the place he's put his heart & soul into these past 11 years.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you. I've loved it. I will miss it... and you. But I'm looking forward to, and am ready for, the next chapter of my life. Larry Baur

What better way to celebrate World Water Day than to showcase Lake Superior!

A lake so massive it contains 10% of all the planet's fresh surface water not frozen in the polar ice caps. At roughly 3 quadrillion gallons, there is enough to cover all of North and South America in a foot of water.

Well, the day has arrived when I stop receiving guests, and turn my focus fully onto preparing for the change of ownership on Thursday, March 25th.

For those who know the story, there is perhaps a silver lining to the cloud of me selling the Terrace. Perhaps the new owner will lift the ban on tacos in the game room! 😁🤣
