March 20, 2020, I took this picture of the rebuilding of Springmaid Pier from one of our balconies. They expect to be finished by memorial day.

Update on the rebuilding of the Springmaid Pier, a short walk from our condo.

UPDATE: Construction on the rebuild of the Pier is well underway and we anticipate the Pier being reopened for Memorial Day Weekend.

The Pier is being rebuilt to it's original length and will feature "Turtle Friendly" LED Lighting.

The Southern Tide Bar & Grill and the Fishtales Gift Shop will open when the Pier reopens.

We will have gifts, souvenirs, bait, tackle, and rods available for rent and purchase.

Good News! They started the reconstruction of Springmaid Pier after it was destroyed by Hurricane Matthew. Springmaid Pier is a short walk south of Ocean Blue 503.

A portion of the Myrtle Beach State Park fishing pier closed earlier this month, but the entire pier is expected to be shut down for repairs through September.
