Looking to celebrate the Fourth of July in Myrtle Beach? Here are a few events to keep in mind! 🇺🇸 The 15th Annual Salute from the Shore fly-over is estimated to pass over the beach in the afternoon, followed by a fireworks show at the Second Avenue Pier that evening.

SALUTE FROM THE SHORE 🛩
Vintage and military planes will fly down the South Carolina coastline in support of military personnel. Aircrafts are scheduled to pass through Myrtle Beach around 1:00 p.m., weather dependent. If you plan to attend, deck yourself out in red, white and blue and wave to the pilots! Salute from the Shore is a not-for-profit grassroots organization that celebrates our nation’s military. To learn more, see https://www.salutefromtheshore.org.

FIREWORKS SHOW 🎆
Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance hosts a special Independence Day Fireworks Show, Thursday, July 4, at 9:00 p.m. Fireworks will be launched from Second Avenue Pier and will be viewable along the city’s beachfront and Ocean Boulevard. (Note: For residents and visitors with sound sensitivities, Autism Spectrum Disorder or PTSD, please plan ahead to wear noise-cancelling headphones at 9:00 p.m. or avoid the beachfront area. Don’t forget to prepare pets with anxiety, too!) To learn more about the Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance, visit https://www.mbdowntown.org/.

Myrtle Beach’s “umbrellas-only” rule takes effect Memorial Day, which is Monday, May 29. The policy was created in 2014 when tents and other large shading devices became so plentiful at peak times and locations that they blocked access and visibility to the water’s edge. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, only circular umbrellas up to seven-and-a-half feet in diameter are allowed on the beach. And they must be in-line-with or behind the established umbrella line. Other shading devices are not allowed during the peak summer months, with the exception of infant tents no larger than four feet wide by three feet deep and three feet high. Visit the Shading Devices page at https://www.cityofmyrtlebeach.com/i_want_to/learn_about/tents_and_umbrellas.php. Myrtle Beach allows tents and canopies up to 12-feet-by-12-feet the remaining nine months of the year – from the day after Labor Day to the day before Memorial Day. Note that dates and rules vary in other location jurisdictions. Be sure to check local laws.
