Introducing BOOKED!📖

Books have always felt at home at Hardeman House. You’ll find them scattered throughout the shelves and tucked into quiet corners of the house, waiting to be picked up and passed along.

BOOKED is where we’ll share the stories we’ve loved, the ones we’re eager to recommend, and the books that help tell the story of this place we call home.

It felt only fitting to begin with Diedrich Rulfs: Designing Texas by Dr. Jere Jackson, our next door neighbor and previous owner of Hardeman House! Featuring Hardeman House among the many buildings attributed to Rulfs, it’s a beautiful look at the architect whose work helped shape so much of East Texas.

Happy reading!🩵

Planning your Nacogdoches itinerary? Millard’s Crossing deserves a spot on it!

This 13-acre historic village is home to restored East Texas homes and buildings dating back to the 1800s, each with its own story to tell. Wander through Victorian homes, a one-room schoolhouse, log cabins, a country store, and even a bright red caboose as you explore what life looked like in East Texas generations ago.

Whether you’re a history lover or simply looking for something fun to do during your stay, Millard’s Crossing is one of our favorite hidden gems in Nacogdoches. We think you’ll love it just as much as we do.💛

Consider this your wake-up call.☕️✨☎️

Love will make you fit it all in a car(d)!💌

One of the sweetest things that came with the Hardeman House wasn’t the woodwork or the history. It was a stack of postcards.

Written to and from members of the Hardeman family between the late 1890s and early 1900s, these postcards offer a glimpse into the family’s everyday lives while they called the Hardeman House home.

More than a century later, we’re honored to be the next stewards of these little pieces of their story.📮

When our guests asked if we’d help pull off a little anniversary prank, there was only one answer: absolutely.

We love being part of the moments that make a stay memorable, whether it’s an anniversary, birthday, reunion, or just a weekend away together. It’s one of our favorite parts of hosting.

Happy Anniversary Dan and Alyssa, and thank you for spending your special day at the Hardeman House.🤍
