Hey Stargazers … Blue Moon this month! May has a second full moon on the 31st. Enjoy!!
A Rare Blue Moon Is Coming! 🌙✨
On May 31, 2026, skywatchers will witness a rare calendrical Blue Moon—a phenomenon that occurs roughly every 2.5 years when a second full moon rises in a single calendar month.
While it won't actually be blue in color, this May Blue Moon is extra special because it’s also a micromoon. This means the moon is at its farthest point from Earth, making it appear slightly smaller and dimmer than usual. It will be shining brightly near the star Antares in the Scorpius constellation—a perfect night for stargazing!
📆 Date: May 31, 2026
⏰ Best viewing: After sunset through the night
📍 Where to look: Toward the southeast (or anywhere in the sky—just look up!)
Find a quiet place, look up, and enjoy the rare beauty of the Blue Moon. 🌌
