This NEVER happens and is not replicable in the  future. Here’s the deal: The guest who booked this week at normal rates many months ago has a significant issue and cannot use the house. In order to get some refund, they are offering the rental at WELL below normal rates and will receive the $6000 as a pseudo refund. My beach house is typically booked up a year in advance but every once in a while a guest has a family emergency and asks to cancel. While the booking is technically nonrefundable, I always attempt to re-rent the week for my guests and give them a refund of the monies collected.

All that to say, June 15-22, 2025 is open. I try hard to take care of my guests, which is why I am making this post here. The guest is offering a $1000 discount (reflected in the VRBO rate) to take her week.

Not the sexiest of upgrades this off-season, but NHH is sporting two brand new HVAC systems, air handlers, etc to keep our guests nice and cool throughout their stay!
Even when every door and window is left open!! 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️😬♥️
