The beautiful private beach offers guests something other hotel in Nantucket can offer, which in an intimate resort setting and such close proximity to a vibrant and historic town. Our guests have the freedom on how to start their day. Time flies when you’re having fun. Especially on Nantucket.

And just like that, another beautiful season at Cliffside Beach Club is coming to a close.

From sun-filled days on our pristine beach to exploring the island, shopping the historic streets of downtown Nantucket, and enjoying spectacular sunsets over Nantucket Sound, summer always seems to go by far too quickly.

Today marks our last full day of the season, and we want to thank all our wonderful guests, friends, and our amazing Cliffside staff for making this another summer to remember.

We can’t wait to welcome you back in 2027!

The only wrong way to spend a fall day on Nantucket is to spend it somewhere else.

From beach hangs and days out on the water to the great sport of shopping Nantucket’s historic downtown streets, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy the island. Wander the shops and galleries, explore the many beautiful sights, or linger over a long lunch at one of the island’s many stellar restaurants. And if lunch happens to roll into dinner, well, you’re on Nantucket.

Back at Cliffside, take a dip in one of our three heated pools, stroll our private North Shore beach, or settle onto the private deck of your beachfront room for a spectacular sunset over Nantucket Sound.

After all, there’s more than one way to do fall on the Gray Lady.

Autumn at Cliffside means front-row seats to one of the best shows in town. September is one of those magical months that makes Nantucket especially hard to resist. But be careful, dramatic fall beach sunsets can be the beginning of a lifelong love affair with the Gray Lady.

During golden hour, our guests take it all in with a stroll along our private beach, from our historic pavilion, the private deck of their beachfront room, or wherever the evening spectacle happens to stop them in their tracks.

There’s something especially welcoming about our historic lobby this time of year, with the warmth of exposed wood, the fireplace, and generations of Nantucket memories within its walls. Outside, our three heated pools are a favorite place to spend an afternoon, and September sunsets over Nantucket Sound, viewed from the pavilion, never disappoint.

September on Nantucket brings the best of both seasons. Warm, sun-filled days still feel like summer, while crisp evenings hint at fall just around the corner.

Spend the day exploring downtown, wandering the cobblestone streets, shops, and galleries, then return to Cliffside and your waterfront room as the afternoon light begins to soften. Take a walk along our private stretch of North Shore beach, linger on the historic pavilion, or take a dip in one of our three heated pools. As evening settles in, head down to the beach for sunset before returning to your beachside room with the sound of the shore just outside.

Summer may be winding down, but some of the most beautiful days at Cliffside are just beginning.

Who says Labor Day means the season is over? There’s another month to go, and September on Nantucket is a locals’ favorite for a reason. Warm beach days, lounging poolside in the dunes, cocktails at sunset and exploring the island’s historic downtown add up to perfection 30 miles out to sea.

Possibly the second-best summer job on Nantucket?

After Chip and his trusty 1998 Jeep “Sandboni” make the first pass, raking our beautiful North Shore beach, the Cliffside beach staff takes it from there.

Every morning in the summer, weather permitting, they walk the beach in unison, meticulously clearing anything the Sandboni missed, from debris to sharp sticks, before measuring and marking out the day’s umbrella lineup and setting our signature umbrellas based on the day’s conditions.

And once the beach is ready for the day, this is where they stay: hanging out on the now pristine beach, setting up chairs for guests and members as desired, and making sure everyone has what they need.

As we head into September, a big thank you to our amazing beach staff for keeping our little stretch of Nantucket looking its best all summer long.

It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it. 😉
