Every hotel has someone who sets its tone. Ours is Julie Ramirez. Julie didn’t plan on a career in hospitality, it found her young, and she’s spent more than two decades since working through nearly every department a hotel has. That grounding shows. She knows what a room takes to turn, what a long shift feels like, and why a team that’s looked after looks after everyone else. This year she’s overseen the debut of The Spa at Casa Mani, and quietly built a culture rooted in genuine care, PTO that’s actually taken, breaks that are actually encouraged. Whether that means a drive up Silverado Trail, a detour through Yountville, or simply seeing where the afternoon takes you, the road less travelled has become considerably easier to find. Some Napa traditions predate the wineries that made this valley famous🎈 has been rising over these vineyards since 1976, long enough now that the balloons are as much part of the skyline as the vines beneath them. Flights leave just after first light, when the winds are calmest and the valley hasn’t quite woken up. Mount St. Helena to the north, the Mayacamas to the west, and on the clearest mornings, a glimpse of the San Francisco skyline in the far distance. It’s an early start. We’ve yet to meet anyone who regretted it.
