The Carriage House boasts brand new construction with vaulted ceilings, a fully-equipped kitchen, and cozy bedroom and living areas. It's perfect for business travelers, couples, and solo adventurers alike.

When we refreshed the interior of The 12 South Carriage House I wanted to keep the general vibe but bring in some fresh new pieces to make the space feel current. One of my favorite swaps was this living room centerpiece light fixture! (Swipe for the “after” photos!)

Ben at caught our vision and helped us bring new life to our space by adding finish carpentry touches, replacing plumbing & lighting fixtures and a million other things that make the space polished and functional. He was patient and kind as I considered options and said things like “hmmmm…maybe half an inch higher.” 🤣 He is a detail guy who takes pride in his work.

As we move towards our 10th Anniversary this coming October, we’ve been quietly working away over here on our most exciting project since we first opened our doors. We’re not quite ready to share all the big news yet, but we didn’t want another second to go by without giving a huge shout-out to Ben (and Dylan!) of

Besides the time and hard work they have put in, they have also put so much heart and detail into seeing the space through the eyes of both an owner and a guest. We couldn’t be more grateful for what they have brought to a huge project!

It’s been a moment since we did a “12 South Carriage House: On The Road” post, but deserves a mention on our ‘gram for sure.

We texted a friend for a dinner rec on a recent weeknight in Asheville and he texted back “The Hound” with the website. When people give a singular rec, no notes, I’ve learned it’s best to just give it a go and this one did not disappoint.

The vibe is low key and lovely and the kitchen turned out delicious plates (we chose The Cubano, the Ahi Tuna Poke “Big A— Bowl” and the yummiest kiddo quesadilla, if you want to order like we did.). Highly recommend pairing with a side of your favorite people and a travel board game.

Next time you find yourselves in the mountains of North Carolina, be sure to stop in and enjoy.
