Set atop one of the largest hills in Brown County, just three miles North of the quaint artist colony of Nashville Indiana, Treetop Retreat offers beautiful accommodations for families, couples and groups. Treetop Retreat sits on 12 private acres of hills and valleys. The inn boasts two suits with private baths, kitchens and king size beds as well as two larger,
and also private, suits with multiple beds and baths for larger groups or families. New owners, Trish and Christina, bring their artistic touches to this lovely property to create a haven where the simple things in life can be appreciated. Come and rejuvenate with the help of morning mist rising from the hills, slow yet brilliant sunsets, long walks in the forest and plenty of birdsong!

And just like that, we have beautiful fall colors in Brown County Indiana 🍂

Sometimes the suddenness of changing leaves seems to happen overnight. Of course, this weekend and next week will probably be even more beautiful…..
tulip poplars are yellow, but losing their leaves very quickly, the sumac are bright, red (and absolutely splendid) the maple trees are just starting to turn yellow, orange and red.
The oak trees are still green, and probably won’t turn any sort of color until the very end of October (they’re slow but so majestic).

Please do keep in mind if you decide to come to Brown County over the next couple of weeks, lots of other people will also be here! Consider bringing some drinks and snacks in a cooler, and filling up your gas tank before you arrive!

As we start the second week of October sunshine, warm temps, and soft orange, brown, gold, and green greet us 🍂🌿🍁💛

This year fall is going to be a slow affair, and we’re not complaining! Sometimes fall happens so fast, we can’t catch our breath, but this year there’s time to savor the changing trees, the cool mornings, the golden autumn evenings….this year is special and we’re so grateful to be living here in Brown County 🍂🧡🍂

October has been warm and full of sunshine in Brown County, Indiana. The leaves are starting to turn; the tulip poplars are already half gold, the sugar maples are close behind, but more of an orange with flecks of darker red. Oh, and we can’t forget the beautiful sumac. They are vibrant red this year, and line the edge of the forest 🍁

We’re so excited for the cooler temps coming later next week, but for now we’re going to soak up the sunshine and be forever grateful for this beautiful special place 🍂🧡🍂

The golden light of October evenings is truly magic! 🌙🍂💫

It’s hard to believe that we’ve been hosting weddings at Treetop for seven years! Time has literally flown by, and we’re trying to remember to save her a little bit of this beautiful love woven golden light spell that is Autumn in Brown County.

If you’re planning a wedding, vow renewal, or a special way to celebrate love and connection, Brown County has so many wonderful locations in nature. Just being outside somewhere seems to make the memories so much sweeter 🍂

Goodbye September! 🍂🧡🍂

What a glorious end to an extraordinary month! In all truth, we are a little sad to see September come to an end. But, October is coming, and, oh my goodness, it is going to be absolutely gorgeous! 🍁

If you’re planning a trip to Brown County in the coming weeks, consider visiting Yellowwood State Forest, or Brown County State Park, or perhaps the month long Brown County studio tour (it’s self-guided)
The tour takes one on an adventure through the wooded hills of Brown County to visit the numerous hidden art studios that make this county is so special 🎨

When visiting Nashville, please be extra vigilant for folks walking, or perhaps struggling with the traffic. Not everyone is prepared for the busyness of fall, and it can be a little surprising. A smile and wave, and good old-fashioned hoosier goodwill, will make the fall, especially sweet for all of us 🧡
