In 2004, we launched Nashville’s first hostel, Music City Hostel. We welcomed thousands of travelers at Music City and decided to expand our operations further downtown. After years of renovation work in its historic building, the Nashville Downtown Hostel opened its doors to travelers from all over the world in 2012. The hostel is ideal for solo travelers looking to meet other guests from around the world or for groups with space to accommodate nearly 200 guests. Each year, we welcome hundreds of musicians and song writers who come to Music City to experience the vibrant art and music scene that has made Nashville home to some of the most prolific artists in the world. Our facility is staffed 24/7 and has large community areas with computers, laundry, an industrial kitchen, TV and sofa lounges, a music stage, pool/foosball tables, and more! We are committed to upholding a cozy, home-like atmosphere that lives up to our motto: Come as Guests, Leave as Friends.

After a wild and uncertain past few weeks, we have started to finally return to a new normal. Right after the disasterous bombing, we had over 20 guests who were evacuees, leaving without shoes, clothes, glasses, medicine, wallets, and other everyday necessities. However, Nashville came to our rescue during this most unpredictable time. The benevolence and outpouring of love our community showed us the weeks after the disaster, showed how we all come together to be .

We want to thank EVERYONE that has helped us- donating time, resources, food, basic necessities, shoes, haircuts, and everything in between. We have overwhelming gratitude for each and every one of you.

To anyone else we may be forgetting who helped in different ways, thank you. Here are a list of people, businesses, organizations and agencies that we want to give a special thanks to:

Hello Nashville Downtown Hostel Friends!

Thank you all for the love and support you have sent our way in the wake of the Christmas day bombing. We have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help support our staff and contractors while the hostel is closed for repairs following the explosion. Early assessments indicate that the hostel may be closed for 12 months or more for this work. Most of our employees have either been furloughed or had their hours reduced to part-time. Our full-time service contractors no longer have a place for work. We have created this campaign to support our staff and contractors until we can reopen. We appreciate any assistance and look forward to opening our doors again.

It's been an unreal and exhausting several days for us at the hostel. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with your love and support. While we haven't been able to respond to most, know it helps and we appreciate you.

Here's a story by NewsChannel 5 Nashville we meant to share sooner.

We will be closed for the immediate future while we assess damages and begin the recovery. We'll know more in the weeks ahead but know we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Nashville soon!

Hi Everyone! We're doing ok but have not had time to keep our socials updated. Our owner, Ron, gave an update on CNN this afternoon. Here's a clip with a quick update until we can post further information.

“"It has been a really difficult year... it has been devastating," says Ron Limb, who owns the Nashville Downtown Hostel impacted by the bomb. "We won't have access to the building for weeks...most of the guests have left the building in pajamas, without shoes, glasses, medicine." https://t.co/t14...

Dear Nashville Hostel family and friends,

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for all your support and encouragement.

Your actions have raised the issue to the mayor and many of the city government agencies. They were able to work with the FBI to gain access to the impact area to shut off the water to our building. The sprinkler water has been shut off. We are flooded but we are no longer continuously flooding.

It was the combined efforts of our community that enabled this result! We love you and thank you! We also want to thank the mayor's office, metro water department, council members, and all those government officers for the assistance.

Owner Operator

Dear Nashville Hostel family and friends,

My name is Ron and I am the owner operator of Nashville Downtown Hostel. It is 2:30 am in Nashville, some 20 hours after the bombing incident. Our building is not on fire but the sprinkler water is still flooding our building. The building and the area has been taken over by FBI and the access is not possible. We need your help to get the attention of the emergency crews that have closed off the downtown disaster area and our building to cut the water off our building.

Our building sustained a significant facial damage on 2nd Ave N side. But our building is getting even greater damage inside from the fire sprinkler water and flooding. I've been onsite, from the street cordoned off location with the building in sight, trying to alert the police, fire department and water department to get the sprinkler water turned off but more than 20 hours later the sprinkler is still running and our building is getting even more damaged. I've been to the police precinct on the 600 Murfreesboro Pike and have been calling the police 615-862-8600 and water service 615-88-3000 (option 3) through out the day but have not been able to get through.

At this point, I am trying to reach the main stream media or anyone who can get the message to the right person to shut off the water. Our requests are falling short of those who can help us.

Thank you,
Ron

Here's a video from our CCTV of 2nd Ave N entrance. Our 2nd Ave N entrance is three doors from the center of the explosion. The explosion set off sprinkler heads in this area of the building that has been pouring water since the early morning. We are waiting to be able to assess the damage and shut off the water. We're hoping the freezing temps do not cause further damage.

Thanks for the outpouring of support so far! Our guests are safe at Music City Hostel waiting on the building to become accessible so we can retrieve personal belongings. A big Christmas thanks to Craig and Jenny Brabson who dropped off shoes and some food for our guests who had to evacuate quickly this morning. We will be reaching out to guests with upcoming reservations over the next week once we have more information to offer. Stay safe everyone!

Dear Nashville Hostel family and friends,

Downtown Nashville experienced a terrible bombing this Christmas morning around 6:30 AM. The epicenter of the bomb was very close to our building. Several buildings in the entertainment district of 2nd Ave N and 1st Ave N near the epicenter sustained significant damages such as blown-out windows and doors. The blast caused our building's fire sprinklers to go off on the 2nd Ave N side. Water is currently flooding the building but the building and the area are cordoned off by the FBI, ATF, TBI, Police Department, Fire Department, and other government agencies. Access to the building and the area is currently not possible.

All of our staff and guests are safe and accounted for. Some of our guests evacuated in pajamas and in bare feet. We have secured emergency provisions for our guests as of now. We will post information as we learn things.

Please refrain from contacting us via phone or text for the time being as we are being overwhelmed with inquires. Please send all inquires to [email protected]. We will be reaching out to guests about their upcoming reservations in the days ahead. We appreciate your support and patience.

Wishing Peace for All,
Nashville Downtown Hostel

We’ve been hard at work the last few months adding color to our building! Rooms are freshly painted and this new mural greets you as you walk to the elevator.

A big thanks to the artist, Clay, for bringing this to life. We love it!
