A bit of Sylvan Park Halloween lore for you all...🚂 👻 Our very famous Sylvan Park Dinky was once a streetcar that carried the people from our neighborhood all the way to downtown Nashville from 1905 until phasing out in the 1940s. Rumor has it that around Halloween, the local kids would prank the conductor by greasing the tracks at 46th & Dakota, causing the lightweight trolley to slip right off the tracks. Nobody was ever harmed during this mischief night prank, with elders claiming it had been a “good, clean joke”. 🎃 What do you think? Should we bring back the Dinky?

We were so pleasantly surprised to learn that we placed second for Best Inn/Bed and Breakfast at the Nashville Scene Best of Nashville awards last week!🗝️ Thank you to everyone who took the time to write in our name. The boarding house can’t wait to host you and your loved ones.

There’s plenty to see in Nashville, but we often find our favorite spots are the ones with dim light, a solid w**e list, and a comfy seat. Now, let’s not forget about the getting ready experience.🪞🫧 Each of our 8-suites have their own, spacious bathrooms, complete with a walk-in rain shower, Dyson hairdryers, Grown Alchemist toiletries, and of course, luxury slippers and robes.🧖‍♀️ Grab a complimentary beverage from the common room and give yourself a little extra time.

The history of the guestbook.🖋️📜 We’re not entirely sure who all stayed in the boarding house in the Great Depression era, but we certainly hope in many years from now, someone will look back on our guest book and note all of the kind words of those who passed through.

Easy gift idea… a stay in the Davenport suite! This fun and spirited room was named after Nashville’s very own dare devil, Nora Lee Davenport.🏍️🔥🛩️ A local legend known for her daring spirit and show-stopping stunts. Reportedly one of the first women in the South to ride a motorcycle, she thrilled audiences by riding through walls of flame and later took up wing walking at McConnell Field in Sylvan Park, Nashville’s first municipal airport.
