Melrose Plantation is one of the most important cultural sites in Louisiana, yet many people outside Natchitoches have never heard of it. The property became famous for preserving Creole history and supporting artists like Clementine Hunter.

The grounds, historic buildings, and artistic legacy make Melrose completely different from other plantation sites across the South.

It's a place where Louisiana history, art, and culture all come together.
