Some days don’t need a big project. ❤️

Today it was watering the plants, pulling off a few dead leaves, and changing up the front door.

I’ve realized I really love these ordinary days at home—the little things that make a place feel cared for, lived in, and loved.

It doesn’t have to be new to feel new again. 🪴🏡

Anybody else ridiculously happy after changing one little thing around the house? 😂

There’s something special about gathering in the middle of the woods. 🌿

Our pavilion at Horseshoe Hills Ranch was made for exactly that—weddings, reunions, birthdays, family dinners, church gatherings, team events…or any reason you can find to bring your favorite people together.

It doesn’t have to be fancy to be beautiful.

Add some flowers, string up the lights, fill the tables with good food, and let the woods do the rest. ❤️

It’s the little details that make my house—and the cabins— feel like more than just a place to sleep. 🤍

When I choose bedding for our cabins, I’m thinking about how it feels when you walk in—soft layers, simplicity, pretty patterns, quilts, pillows, and those small touches that make the room feel warm and collected instead of cookie-cutter.

I want our guests in our home and our cabins to feel like someone actually thought about the room they’re staying in…because I did. ❤️

This week got me thinking about our cabins in a whole new way.

Horseshoe Hills Ranch can be more than a place for an individual getaway. It can also be a home base for teams, retreats, reunions, church groups, wedding parties, quilting friends, and other groups who want to stay and gather together.

There was a season when our house was full of six growing kids. Then, little by little, they all grew up and started lives of their own.

These days, our home is filled in a different way. Whether it’s families on vacation, reunions, or a cross-country team gathered around the table, hearing laughter in the house again is a gift I don’t take for granted.

And if you ask Addie, she’s convinced every guest came to visit her. 🐾❤️

There was a lot of running happening this week… and I wasn’t the one on the course. 😊

This week we have the privilege of feeding a cross-country team staying at Horseshoe Hills Ranch. After a day of miles, it was our turn to make sure they had a hot meal waiting.

There’s something special about a table full of hungry athletes, laughter, and good conversation. We hope they leave with full stomachs, tired legs, and memories that last long after they leave here.

Cooking for a house full of hungry cross-country runners this week! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

There’s something special about a kitchen full of good food, laughter, and teenagers getting ready for another day of running. We love being a small part of their adventure and making sure they have a warm meal waiting after the miles. And we like to think we are a tiny part of them being STATE CHAMPIONS!

We hope they leave with full bellies, tired legs, and memories they’ll never forget. ❤️

Sometimes you don’t even need to see the smiles to know they’re there.

Within minutes of walking into the cabin, all we could hear was excitement as our grandkids discovered every little detail. Their voices are a reminder of why we built Horseshoe Hills Ranch—not just as a place to stay, but as a place where families can slow down, explore together, and make memories that last long after the trip is over.
