As of March 2024 these historical sites in Nauvoo are no longer requiring a fee to visit Smith Family Homestead, the Mansion House and the Red Brick Store. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints purchased these site along with others last spring and will not require and entrance fee making it more accessible to those visiting Nauvoo this season!

Responsibility and ownership for the Kirtland Temple, several historic buildings in Nauvoo and various manuscripts and artifacts have officially transferred from Community of Christ to the Church of Jesus Christ.
