FINALLY! The ribbon cutting for the Navarre Park Phase I improvements will take place Saturday, April 30. During the event, District 4 Commissioner Dave Piech will announce some exciting news for future phases plus unveil a special tribute piece.
Santa Rosa County on Wednesday announced the reopening of Navarre Park, following the completion of Phase I improvements. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 30.
Santa Rosa County began redeveloping the existing Navarre Park in October 2020 to create a top-notch recreational experience for all ages and abilities.
βWe have all been anxiously awaiting the opening of Navarre Park and Iβm sure that the new park will be a great attraction for residents as well as visitors for many years to come,β said Commissioner Dave Piech, District 4. "The enhancements that were made are part of multiple phases of improvements slated for Navarre Park."
The county thanked The Starfish Project NWFL for raising funds for adaptive equipment so children of all abilities can play together.
Enhancements to the park include an interactive splash pad, ADA accessible restroom facilities, all-inclusive playgrounds for two age groups, expanded parking, an expanded boardwalk with seating and picnic tables, landscaping and stormwater improvements.
Funding for the park improvements was made possible by a combination of local option sales tax funds, District 4 recreation funds, tourist development tax fund and general funds.
