Beach days are the best… until sand turns your slide seals into sandpaper.
If you’re camping on the water at Navarre Beach Camping Resort (hello, Santa Rosa Sound breeze), take 30–60 seconds before you retract your slides—your seals, sidewalls, and slide topper will thank you.
Quick “before you retract” routine:
• Scan (10 seconds): look for tan “grit lines,” especially in the corners + bottom edge
• Brush or vacuum first: soft detail brush works great (don’t push grit deeper)
• Wipe lightly: damp microfiber to grab fine sand—avoid making a sand-mud paste
• Final pass: run a finger along the seal… if it feels gritty, wipe once more
Pro tip: Keep a small slide kit in a bay (soft brush + microfiber + small vacuum). It’s cheap insurance against tears, scratches, noisy slides, and future leaks.
