SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Florida early Tuesday morning. We could see it from the balcony but we only saw the aftermath. We missed the actual launch.

Have you ever wondered why Navarre Beach has such soft white sand ?

The soft white sand is actually tiny grains of quartz crystals that were washed down from the Appalachian Mountains to the Emerald Coast. This sugar white sand feels like velvet under your feet and makes squeaky noises.

The Navarre Beach Fishing Pier will reopen Tuesday morning at 5 a.m.

There has been a lot of work happening behind the scenes to get things to this point. The railing around the octagon has been repaired, and work to repair and replace the pier’s blow-away panels is underway.

Will everything be perfect on Tuesday? Nope. But the pier will be open, the sun will rise over the Gulf, and the fishing lines will hit the water again.

A few things to know before you come:

**Pier hours will be 5 a.m. – 8 p.m. They will be moving into Fall hours a couple of weeks earlier than originally planned.

**Bait will not be available for purchase until Thursday. Please plan ahead if you’re coming to fish Tuesday or Wednesday.

**Please bring your own ice. Ice machines were destroyed during the hurricane and will need to be replaced.

**And most of all, bring a little patience with you. Things are reopening while recovery and repairs continue, and there may still be a few rough edges.

Windjammers will open Tuesday.

Windjammers is a little bruised from the storm — but will reopen Tuesday at 11 a.m.!

Mach 1 Aerial Photography shot a great video showing damage to Navarre Pier following the hurricane. Pier is still closed and we haven’t heard any updates yet about opening, but we did see workers on the pier today.

Just as Hurricane Isaias made landfall the Pier Happiness Ring Cam captured some intense storm footage. We hope to be back up and running before long. Without power and elevators it may take a few days to assess our recovery. We will post some updates in the coming days. Thanks for your patience.
