🍂 **Have you sat on our porch swing lately?**

It's one of my favorite places to slow down and watch the world go by.

Sometimes there's a little wildlife to keep you company. Sometimes it's just the breeze, the gardens, and a few minutes of peace and quiet.

And sometimes, as you'll see in this little video, the crows have something to say about it all! 🐦‍⬛

November is just around the corner, and it's a lovely time to find a little quiet at Whispering Pines.

Come sit awhile. There's room for you on the porch swing.

Relax. Retreat. Renew.

🕯️ A Whisper from Mystery & Spirits Weekend...
Who will you be at The Gathering?
When you arrive at Whispering Pines, one of these journals will be waiting for you.
And with it, someone new to become.
Maybe you're an old friend of Horace Pine. Perhaps you've come from across town—or across the country. You may recognize someone else at The Gathering. You may know something they don't.
And they may know something about you.
There are 8–12 characters in our story, each with their own history, relationships and reasons for being invited to Whispering Pines.
No acting experience required. You don't have to memorize lines or perform a part. You'll simply step into your character, follow the story, decide what to share—and discover what everyone else brought with them.
Over two nights, your immersive weekend unfolds throughout Whispering Pines and historic Nebraska City—with clues to uncover, stories to compare, food and spirits to enjoy, and a mystery that grows deeper as The Gathering continues.
Horace knows everyone at The Gathering.

I think we may have found the drink of the season. 🍎
Apple C***r Mules & Mocktails were definitely a favorite at Whispering Pines this AppleJack weekend. I poured about a dozen — which, around here, is saying something. 😂
In fact, I'm officially out of ginger b**r.
There's still one more day of AppleJack fun today, the apples are still falling from the trees, and we've got plenty of fall ahead of us.
Apple C***r Mules are definitely staying on the list. 🍎

Over two autumn nights, the story will lead you from Whispering Pines into historic Nebraska City and back again—through hidden clues, gatherings around the fire, themed food and drinks, and ultimately The Gathering, where what you've discovered may matter more than you realize.

One more little piece of nostalgia from 21 years at Whispering Pines...

Seventeen journals. Nearly 21 years of stories.

I gathered them all together on my dining room table recently — and honestly, I wasn't quite prepared for what I would find in those pages.

Honeymoons and anniversaries. Sisters' weekends and family trips. First visits and return visits. Breakfasts, conversations, drawings, recommendations...and pieces of people's lives left behind at Whispering Pines.

Some made me smile.

One story, ten years between two pages, hit me especially hard.

And while I was sitting there looking backward through 21 years of journals, something happened that seemed just about perfect.

Someone wrote the next page.

I finally sat down and wrote about it.
