Hattie Carnegie ( 1884-1956) She was born as Hattie Kenengeiser in Vienna. She came to the United States with her family inn1892. When she was 15, she started work trimming hats. By 1909 she opened a salon in New York, designing tresses with a seamstress friend. By the 1920’s, she adopted the name,Carnegie and was well-known for her simple, elegant, French-inspired designs.
She began designing costumes jewelry. She began designing costume jewelry to compliment his fashions in the 1930-,.
Rhinestones, pearls and glass beads, rhinestones, plastics, enamel and gold gold plated finishes were used. Especially popular were her”tremblers,” high tiny springs that make part of the jewelry piece quiver when the “Wearer” moves. Her jewelry was influenced by Africa, Far East and Native American design. Perfume and jewelry were still being made under her name after Carnegie’s death in 1956. Her Salon closed in 1965, and the company closed in 1965. Her company was bought by Larry Joseph and stayed in business until the mid- 70’s.

If you put it up to the light, they are translucent and have a red glow around them. The little gold plated beads between the orange beads work beautifully with the beads. It is 24” long. It weighs 2
1/2 ounces. Looks brand new.
