In light of the recent influx of Covid-19 cases in Nevada County and a Fourth of July gathering in the area believed to be responsible for community transmission of the Corona virus, we have decided to push back the launch of our daily programming until the number of active cases begins to recede.

We will continue to offer camping through HipCamp and will be increasing our safety protocols in the days ahead.

We look forward to launching our programming at the beginning of August. Until then, please participate in keeping our numbers down by wearing masks and keeping distance from others, especially indoors.

Fauci said there was a dangerous "all or none" mindset among many people who are beginning to hang out with their friends again.

"By 'all or none' I mean either be locked down or open up in a way where you see people at bars not wearing masks, not avoiding crowds, not paying attention to physical distancing," Fauci said.

Going outside is a much safer way to socialize

The doctor stressed that getting outside and keeping a distance from others is a much safer social interaction. Studies have indicated that people are far less likely to transmit the coronavirus to others at outdoor gatherings.

"You can get outdoors, you can interact — wear a mask, try to avoid the close congregation of people, wash your hands often. But don't just make it all or none," Fauci said. "We've got to be able to get people to get out and enjoy themselves within the safe guidelines that we have."

"I think we need to emphasize the responsibility that we have both as individuals and as part of a societal effort to end the epidemic," Fauci said.

Seeking bands, DJs, body movement teachers, and folks interested in leading workshops as part of our summer camp for adults at HOME: Nevada City.

We’re also looking for films from local and other independent filmmakers for our weekly outdoor screening.

We’ll provide camping on-site and split any revenue that comes in from your event. Additional arrangements potentially available.

With pretty much everything canceled this summer, we decided to basically combine what we love about camping and with some of the things we love about festivals to create the Summer of Social Distancing at HOME.

Each day there will be one scheduled event on a rotating weekly schedule, and folks are welcome to come stay in our furnished rooms or camp on site for a modest fee. Or, for those local to the Nevada City area to just stop by for that day’s event.

Please let me know if you’d like to co-create with us and what you’d like to offer.

Movement Monday (yoga, tai chi, etc)

Tuesday dance party (May end up moving to Thursday TBD)

Woke Wednesday (workshops on anti-racism, feminism, class consciousness, cultivating diversity, and intersectional healing)

Thursday field trip
