We’ve had many people knock on our front door and stop us in the yard to ask who the new owners of The Parsonage 1865 are. With our ribbon cutting coming up this Thursday, it feels like a great moment to introduce ourselves.
My name is Bri Ingram, and I’m the host at The Parsonage 1865. Having the opportunity to partner with my dad, and husband and run a family owned business in our home town is something words cannot describe. Ever since I was a young girl growing up on North Pine Street in Historic Nevada City, I fantasized about owning a Victorian Bed & Breakfast downtown. After many years of traveling, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to call Nevada City my home again, where I get to raise my daughter with my husband, Huck Ingram, in the same community that my ancestors have called home for over 6 generations. When I first walked into The Parsonage 1865 with my husband and father, Randy, my mind was made up. This was my dream property… It had all the history and authenticity I was looking for. After spending years designing both the Holbrooke and National Hotels, I learned so much about the hospitality industry and could immediately see how this house had all the elements I was looking for to recreate, and preserve, an amazing, historic, Bed and Breakfast for our community. The day we got the keys, my husband, dad, daughter and I celebrated by ripping up all the dirty, old carpet and exposed the beautiful Douglas Fir subfloors from 1865. And that was just the beginning! A year later, our family has literally loved on every inch of the house and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share the space with visitors and guests for generations to come.
The three of us are clearly passionate about history, community and family. We would like our home to feel like your own while you enjoy your visit to Nevada City.
