Rainfield Farm

Rainfield Farm A Small Family Farm in Northwest Indiana - certified naturally grown produce, farmstand, and glamping. Thank you for visiting!

Born in 2012, Rainfield Farm practices small scale farming on thirteen acres of land, one of which is used for growing produce. The fields are strategically placed to minimally impact the natural landscape of pines and rolling hills. We practice natural growing methods which prevents the use of pesticides and synthetic chemicals. We rely heavily on composting and soil conditioning through cover cr

ops, green manure and crop rotations. Currently we are growing 50+ varieties of produce most of which are
leafy greens, herbs, and our lettuce mixes. In addition, we raise approximately 50 chickens for fresh eggs. Please take a moment to explore our website further and discover more information about our produce, growing philosophy and how you can help support the Farm.

We open this weekend for another season of glamping on the farm. Spent the winter refreshing it with new furniture and decor. Remodeled the outdoor shower as well.

Well we cleaned out their house from the winter. Hank doesn’t hide the fact that he got some new pine shavings. It was good to see them outside though.

Any other farmers have an issue with this? Big thanks to our LaPorte FSA office for helping us with this. We got everything in by the deadline then they asked for all the supporting documents after the acreage report was submitted. Fingers crossed they’ll accept our application. This was definitely not designed for small multi crop farms.

In order to qualify for the $1 billion in federal assistance, specialty crop growers should have filed reports last week. Many didn’t.

March Weather: Where you need a parka at 7 AM and a t-shirt by noon.

Inside the greenhouse, things are much more consistent. We’ve got tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, basil and lettuce officially soaking up the warmth!

PSA: Our CSA starts in roughly 9 weeks! We’ve noticed sign-ups have slowed down, and we’d love your help picking up the momentum.

When you join our CSA early, you’re helping us cover the "start-up" costs (seeds, heaters, labor) that make the summer harvests possible. Think of it as an investment in your future salad bowl.

We can’t wait to see you all soon!
