Here is our band, Turkeyfoot Road, on the bank of the Illinois River at Illini State Park. We rented a cabin that is halfway between the cities of band members, which is Villa Hills, Kentucky, and New London/Hartford, Wisconsin.
Our practice trip has been a great four-day rehearsal getting our set ready for LittleStock, and exploring the little River city of Marseilles. We watched from our perch above the river as tugs pushed or pulled long rows of barges up and down the waterway. Our cabin had bunks and electricity, but no plumbing! We all had fun and even celebrated Everett’s 8th birthday!

I had an unexpected guest this week...a nice young man named Josiah was in a car accident due to the ice, totaled his parents car on his way to Three Lakes, and ended up here. We're glad he did! We spent a leisurely day waiting for the roads to become navigable, so he could get a ride to his job up north. We ventured out only as far as the New London pool/ He got to listen to a couple of piano lessons before his driver arrived, and promised to come back soon.

Christmas Eve at our house with my nephew Otis, who quickly figured out how to lift the horse under the neck to ride it over the threshold. Brilliant great nephew! Isn't that a darling antique toy? When that was given to a child in the 1920's, I bet it was the one and only gift.
My little inn will remain decorated until mid to late January, or as long as the needles stay on the tree Randy and I cut. We also planted it! That is the 20 year old top of a blue spruce he wanted to take out so the deer have a path into the field.
You are welcome to a cozy overnight with a breakfast featuring gingerbread waffles! As a holiday gift, I am offering free passes to the local aquatic center. Make a reservation at 920-982-4366.
I am closed January 13-14-15 for the Trauger family Christmas..all rooms booked! Open again January 16.
