UPDATE: This has sold
We are selling the upstairs sitting area antique Victorian couch and the matching extra wide chair on the bottom right in this top photo and the framed and matted print over the couch. The antique chair in the upper corner is not for sale. These photos don’t show them very well, but I will send more to anyone who is interested in purchasing them. We will sell them separately as well.

It’s been awhile since we posted photos of some of our flowers. We hope you are having a wonderful summer.

Ten years ago this weekend, The Minnis House opened for business. On Friday, April 9, 2010, we hosted a private birthday luncheon and a wedding rehearsal dinner. On Saturday, April 10, 2010, we opened for breakfast. Although our tea room was only open for a few months, we continued to host private events for many years in addition to having guests in the bed and breakfast. There have been many happy celebrations here these past ten years, weddings, bridal and baby showers, anniversary and birthday parties, book signings and so much more. Last year and previously as well, we were voted Best Bed and Breakfast by the readers of our county newspaper, for which we’re so thankful. Here are just a few photos from the past ten years. In May 2015, we opened the guest cottage across the street and in October 2019 we opened a general store next to it, Lost Creek Mercantile. The Minnis House is temporarily closed for awhile, partially due to the Covid-19 crisis and because we are taking care of Kim’s 92 year old father here who is on hospice. We hope to someday be able to host overnight guests and private events again, but family comes first. We appreciate all your support and encouragement these past ten years.

Good Morning from The Minnis House. You may have noticed a lack of posts from us in the past few months. Kim’s father, the gentleman seated in the swing, has been in declining health since last summer and has been living with us in the Minnis House. Since he was placed on hospice a couple of weeks ago at age 92 1/2, we have decided to temporarily close for a few months, plus there’s a threat of a dangerous virus coming to all areas of the United States. We have sitters and hospice nurses coming and going and it’s too difficult to have guests in and out, especially since Kim gets up several times each night to help him. Kim’s mother is on the left in the swing and she passed away less than two years ago after a long illness. When she became ill in 2015 we stopped hosting private social events for clients here. Thank you for your prayers and your understanding.
