Another Room 9 Residency is in the books! Kate Nickel spent two weeks as an artist-in-residence at Travelers New Orleans. Read about her experience below.

“Long, tree-lined walks through the Lower Garden District filled my days. As a painter, I tried to think of a meaningful way to encapsulate my experience. I ended up drawing a series of handmade postcards to reflect on the emotions and events during my short stint at Travelers. I hoped future travelers would see one that resonated with their own experience while existing in New Orleans and take the opportunity to slow down and write a note to someone that pops into their mind. You may still find a card available in the lobby.”

The Room 9 Project is an invitation-only, short-term artist residency at Travelers New Orleans that provides a supportive, restorative environment for artists to work, research, think, design, rest, or create in a way that also serves to strengthen and enhance our own creative community here at Travelers.
