Ok here is the issue. I just had a really nice person try to reserve the cottage for Halloween 2026 on VRBO. She made a mistake and put it 2027 (I am booked for 2026). She quickly realized this and went to cancel it, but since VRBO/Homeaway was waiting for my reply as the owner. She told me that she was looking for 2026, and could I cancel it. I told her I could not because VRBO/Homeaway will penalize me. So I just refused the booking so she could book someplace else. Of course as expected I got this notice from Vrbo/Homeaway (now expedia too) RE: A LEGAL GUESTHOUSE! The Little Eazy Guest House-Owner lives on the property

A recent booking request for A LEGAL GUESTHOUSE! The Little Eazy Guest House-Owner lives on the property expired due to no response within 24 hours from the host. Expired requests lower your listing’s acceptance rate and make travelers less confident about booking on Vrbo.

To protect Vrbo travelers, two consecutive expired booking requests will result in a temporary listing suspension. To avoid a suspension, please accept or deny all booking requests within 24 hours.

If you know you won’t be able to respond to booking requests as quickly as needed right now, you can temporarily hide your listing from search results.

Why responding within 24 hours matters
Expired requests make travelers less confident about booking with Vrbo.
When guests don’t hear back, they often book elsewhere.
Listings with higher acceptance rates appear higher in search results, which can lead to more bookings.

Staying on top of requests—or pausing your listings when needed—is the easiest way to keep your listing active and available to guests. Thank you for your partnership with Vrbo.

Now we all understand that people make mistakes, and so I had to call VRBO and talk to the customer service person who cannot do anything but will escalate the issue. I know that it can change since it has happened before and I got to wiped out. BUT I sent this to customer who thought it was not a good thing. And she found me on FB, now we are friends and she has my direct website to BOOK DIRECT and save $$. In the end it turned out to be good...www.Littleeazy.com

Don't know why so many "write off" the french quarter. It has a life (and afterlife) of its own...as frank states..

To be in the French Quarter is to step outside of time and enter a world of dreams and letters, a world perfumed by jasmine and oleander – with the faintest hint of mud wafting in from the Mississippi – a world where people move slowly, with catlike grace and elegance.

Here, myth and reality meld to form a dreamy realm where imagination reigns supreme and care is wholly abandoned.

The Quarter itself is a poem. The souls are old here and each has a story to sigh into any willing ear.

Sitting on the balcony with Rupee on my lap, I watch the sun slowly sink beneath the rooftops of Armstrong Park. So many rooftops. I imagine the multitudes of lives lived under those rooftops through the centuries. To be just one of those lives, to be just one flash of color in the kaleidoscope that is the Quarter lends perspective, which in turn yields gratitude.

Frank Perez: 1968 - 2026 Frank’s stories were always a heavy pour – his writing could quickly intoxicate listeners and readers, bringing on a kind of double vision where suddenly, the past existed alongside the present.  – by Ellis Anderson
