Back in my happy place, BUT another tropical storm! We will see how Idalia compares to Hilary! These are the sand bags that have been placed along the beach to shop dune erosion. It's amazing how much the beach has built back on its own since the Ian/Nicole duo. Just happy to be back in town ❤️

Last year, we got to experience the Ian/Nicole combo hurricanes - our firsts. Now, we are expecting the remains of Hilary. It was noted that we seemed to have spectacular sunsets right before a big storm. Exciting.

PSA - Hurricane prep guidelines for So Cal. Not used to hurricanes here - this is what you need to do.
1. Fill your car with gas
2. Have water supplies - enough for 5 days for family and pets
3. Have food supplies for pets
4. Have toilet paper!
5. Have easy to prep and eat meals that require no or minimal cooking.
6. Have flash lights - assume power will be off.
7. Stay home and out of high water.

If you're on the beach, fill in your holes and pick up your trash. It's all we ask to keep the beaches safe for hatchlings.

Today is World Oceans Day. We, as the human species, can not survive without the ocean as it is integral in our weather patterns. But we need to respect the beach and the ocean - no plastic, no glass. It's frightening how much micro plastic one picks up on the beach, so please, leave only your footprints and take away that which does not belong, even if you didn't put it there.

This is our other home on New Smyrna Beach. Just a 1 minute walk to the beach and plenty of parking. I really love this house. It has a great feel.
