Artist Teruko Yokoi’s connection to Hotel Chelsea lives on in the Japanese restaurant and cocktail bar that bears her name. She lived at the Hotel with Sam Francis during her years in New York, and a selection of her paintings remains on view there today.

This September, her work returns to Los Angeles with A Pacific Line. The late Japanese-Swiss painter’s first solo exhibition in the city in more than four decades spans works on paper and canvas from 1954 to 2005, tracing her singular path through postwar abstraction across Japan, the United States, France, and Switzerland.
