red to many social events with guests from all over the world. We have always truly believed that food is the way to everyone's heart, health and happiness. The love, dedication and preparation put into our foods, reflect in the flavors. The food production side of Becka's Blue Nomad Catering and Retreat, specializes in Trinidadian based cultures. I say cultures because, Trinidadian food, is a fusion of many different cultures reaching across the Continents of Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. Not only is our menu influenced by the amazing rich and diverse heritage of my ancestors but, there are also influences of the United States of America (where I was born) and Northern Africa (Morocco), some of my distant family members birthplace. I have always wanted to visit Morocco since childhood. An aspiration of mine, I had never shared with anyone. To have the opportunity to move to Morocco and learn traditional Moroccan/Amazigh cooking in the Atlas Mountains was formidable. Everything came full circle. I always knew as a child, I would end up living in Africa. I was just never sure of where I would end up residing. There is no denying that these last four years have been quite tumultuous nationwide. Personally, I have lost quite a bit of myself and people in my life. I have had to build myself up again and felt in total isolation in some respects. I know this was the plan. To bring me more in line with myself and closer Allah SWT. No matter what hardship we face physically, emotionally, spiritually or socially. There is always a chance to turn it around. To shift the paradigm. To heal ourselves, our environment and the ones we love♥️
Everyone may not understand our journey, but it's not for everyone to understand. Sometimes taking a step in a new and desired direction (is never easy) but, it may just be the type of natural medicine we have been longing for. I, Bernadette Maria Ayers will be your personal go to for your self-care plan, your meal schedule and your tour wants and needs. You will have an ample amount of time to heal, detox and rejuvenate. You will also have a chance to be among the amazing, beautiful, creative, loving and hard-working locals. You will get a feel for the trades they have grown up learning and perfecting. You will get a chance to support women’s cooperatives, and very small family-owned businesses. Businesses not run by large corporations. What an amazing way to give back to families who need the most support! ♥
This business is truly a family affair, bringing together my background of Trinidad, Venezuela, France and Britain, coming together with Moroccan/Amazigh culture. ♥
