The trial enrolled 30 adults missing at least one tooth and is currently focused on establishing the safety of the treatment, with researchers monitoring for early signs of tooth regeneration. Animal studies in mice and ferrets showed complete functional tooth growth with no serious side effects. If the safety phase succeeds, the next stage will test children born without teeth due to a rare congenital condition.
