This Thursday, The Penthouse plays host to a one-night-only wine dinner experience. 🍷

For the evening, Jesse Katz of Aperture Cellars joins Chef Seadon Shouse for an intimate five-course dinner at The Standard, East Village, set against sweeping skyline views above the city.

Recently named “Winemaker of the Year,” Jesse Katz will personally guide guests through a curated selection of pairings throughout the evening, thoughtfully matched with a seasonal menu from Chef Seadon Shouse of Halifax Hoboken. Expect dishes like hamachi crudo with kelp emulsion and pickled jalapeño, three cheese agnolotti with wild boar ragu, and dry-aged Long Island duck smoked with huckleberry branches, alongside expertly selected wine pairings designed to complement each course.

Hosted by EunYoung Sebazco, cofounder and owner of KinKa, The Art of the Tea Ceremony (Chanoyu) invites guests into a traditional Japanese matcha tea experience inside Cuna’s softly sunlit private dining room at The Standard, East Village, opening onto the garden for a serene spring setting in the heart of the city.

Rooted in the philosophy of ichi-go ichi-e — “one time, one meeting” — this intimate gathering is a gentle reminder to slow down, savor the present moment, and reconnect with your senses.

Guests will experience a live demonstration of chanoyu, the choreographed art of tea preparation where every gesture carries intention, followed by a curated tasting of ceremonial matcha paired with seasonal wagashi sweets.
