So THE CONFESSIONAL is a project I worked on for years. It was a huge idea that I was initially against but some actors pressured me to do it, and in the end I got talked into producing a project way too big to do. I invested about 20k in myself and the idea,(F**KING NEVER DO THIS) the idea that the people convincing me where as serious about it as I was. When there is no money for people, things can fall apart on a production that money is being spent. We had the lights, camera, costumes, sets, script, locations and cheap eats. That's what I said I could do. People slowly began leaving the production. First it was actors, who wanted to write and produce. Those options where not available, as the show had completely been written, twelve episodes, before we shot. And I wanted to direct as I wrote them..that's what I was bringing to it. A few months into it, producers started to act weird, and eventually left. My sister Tonya is the only producer that stayed around until the money was completely gone. In the end...I was alone with a project that I resisted..but said I'd do. Even alone I worked when I could, for years. To get the project out. It's so different now then what is was originally written as, it's almost a whole different project in the end.
They say that if you are going to write something and then direct it you have to forget the lines while shooting. If you also edit then the lines become important again. If you are producing it whats important is the overall quality of the story telling. It's hard to do it all which is what I was left to do when after hundreds of hours of shooting the whole production fell apart. I did what I could to salvage what I could. Give everyone the credit they deserve. I hope you watch the show...and it makes you want to watch it. What the talented people involved did...is very...very fu***ng cool The first episode will be released tomorrow. I want you to share it.
