It is a long weekend and the slopes will be in the best form of the season. We are 15 minutes from Sugar Mountain and 20 minutes from Beech Mountain. Travel Alert: Snow & frigid temps return tonight / Thursday. High temp Thursday only 16 in town and 10 on the ski slopes with 20+ MPH winds (wind chills below zero). Also, this will be this busiest ski weekend of the year, so expect traffic back-ups especially on Sat & Sun. Additional snow possible Saturday.
