We'd like to thank everyone who came and camped with us for the MCAS Cherry Point Air Show. Glad the weather cooperated for the show to go on and they had a huge improvement in the traffic. I know all our of campers made it there this year. (Newport, NC)

The burn ban in our area has been lifted. You will be able to have a campfire next weekend while you are here for the MCAS Cherry Point Air Show. With every purchase of firewood we will give you a Campfire Colors to use on your fire. We look forward to seeing everyone. We are located in Newport, NC 8 miles from the main gate of Cherry Point.

They have improved the traffic plan from 2 years ago. Traffic should flow much quicker this time. Just make sure you have your valid photo ID and parking pass. We only have 2 pull thru sites still available and a few back-in's left. We are located in Newport only 8 miles from MCAS Cherry Point Air Show main gate.

⚠️ Be advised: The Burn Ban is still active across North Carolina, including state parks. Drought conditions across the state mean an increased risk for wildfires. Please help us reduce the risk of wildfires by adhering to the following rules when recreating outside.

Prohibited:
- Wood campfires
- Charcoal grills

Permitted:
- Portable electric or gas stove
- Portable or electric gas grill
- Electric or gas lanterns
- Propane fire pits
- Electric or gas heaters

Story of the Dogwood Tree.

As we head into Easter weekend, remember the symbolism of the dogwood tree, which can be seen blooming across our state. 🌸

Legend states that the dogwood tree symbolizes the death and resurrection of Jesus in many ways. First, the bracts (aka petals) form a cross shape with indentions on the ends, representing the cross and the nails that pierced Jesus' hands. Second, the red marks on the end of the petals symbolize Jesus' blood that was shed. Finally, the tight grouping in the center of the flowers represents the crown of thorns.

No matter how you celebrate Easter this weekend, be sure to look around and enjoy the beauty of these flowers!
