Formerly known as the Sylvia Beach Hotel, this beloved literary landmark in Newport’s Nye Beach closed its doors in 2024 for a full renovation. Now beautifully restored and reopened as Hotel Sylvia, the historic building (originally constructed between 1910 and 1913) begins its next chapter. Honoring its past as Oregon’s one-time honeymoon capital and inspired by namesake Sylvia Beach—founder of Paris’s iconic Shakespeare and Company bookstore—Hotel Sylvia is a place to slow down, savor the coastal breeze, and reconnect with what matters.
