On Wednesday, August 19th, 2020 Tyee Lodge Oceanfront B&B will be closing. I will miss this peaceful & beautiful corner of Newport, the rolling waves, and the magical surrounding nature. I will miss all of the incredible people who were once guests or co workers and have since become friends. It is not a time for sadness however; I will be moving North to spend more time with my lovely granddaughters, who fill my life with make believe worlds, hugs, and giggles.
I am thankful for the vision and creativity of Cindy and Mark McConnell who first built and opened Tyee Lodge in 1995.
The new buyers of the property have many new adventures to begin, so they have decided not to continue the B&B at this time.

For the last seven years, Tyee Lodge has not only been my home and business, it has been the fulfillment of a treasured dream to live on the coast and marvel at the rhythms of Mother Nature through the rolling waves and gentle breezes. Tyee’s guests have been a connection to worlds outside of my own and a source of new friendships. This is a magical corner of Newport and I feel lucky to have belonged here. The events of the past few years have reminded me how quickly things change and the importance of spending time with those whom you love. I have therefore decided to put Tyee Lodge Bed & Breakfast on the market. It is my hope that Tyee will be a wonderous and restorative home for her next owner. When the B&B sells, I plan to move to Olympia Washington, which is conveniently located between my two granddaughters Lola and Charlie. Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area and lighthouse are within walking distance from Tyee Lodge! The lighthouse is newly renovated and back open for tours! This is a must see when staying at our B&B!

Dear Tyee Lodge Friends and Family,
We have applied for a Mission Main Street Grant through Chase. In order to be eligible for the grant pool, we need to collect 250 votes by November 15, 2013. The grant money would go for wonderful enhancements to Tyee Lodge B&B, like solar energy panels, (yes, even at the Oregon Coast) new high efficiency water heaters & washers, upgraded parking area, new furnishings, Native American storytellers, and more.
