Oregon Coast days at Nye Beach. It’s mid-March, the temperature is a comfortable 61°, and there isn’t even a breeze. The ocean is calm, the sky is bright blue, and the beach is wide open at low tide.

From the condo you can watch the creek winding across the sand toward the ocean while the sun sparkles across the water. Looking north, Yaquina Head Lighthouse stands clearly in the distance—one of the most iconic views on the coast.

The Hang-Glider by the Condo

The other day, I was sipping my mid-morning coffee on the balcony when—whoosh!—a bright-colored hang glider floated by, so close I said good morning. He drifted past with the ocean breeze, gracefully circling the sky like a bird. For a moment, it felt like he was right there with me—I half-joked that if I had a long enough straw, I could’ve offered him a sip of my drink!

It’s just one of those magical little moments you get to experience here… where the sky, sea, and life all feel connected.

A Blast from the Past

Before the condo’s big glow-up, it was straight out of the 1980s—faded furniture that had seen better days, short green indoor/outdoor carpet that tried its best to feel cozy, and a closed-off kitchen that hid the most spectacular part of all…the ocean view!

Now, it’s completely transformed. The walls are opened up, sunlight floods the space, and the sparkling water is the first thing you see when you walk in. Those old “before” pictures are a funny little time capsule, but one look at it now and you know—this is the way it was always meant to be.

A Morning at Pacific Sourdough

There’s a tiny bakery by the coast called Pacific Sourdough, and you’ll always know you’re close because you can smell the warm, fresh bread before you even see the door.
