I stayed here November 7th. Well for the first time ever I am very disappointed with my stay at Best Western in Newton. They are usually clean and I I'm always so pleased with how clean our stay has been. That is why I chose to go there again. While we were there we found candy wrappers everywhere, a used masks on the bathroom door, and then MOLD in the pool area on a table I did tell them about the wrappers and mask last night. The lady last night told me I would get my second room half off. We had been in the room for 3 hours before we discovered this stuff because we were in the pool. We found MOLD on the table in the pool area this morning! I went to mention it to them (who happened to be the owner) and I said those should be wiped down 3 to 4 times a day... daily at the least! The woman replied with what do you want me to do about it! It wasnt in the room so I don't know what you want me to do about it. I WANT YOU TO CLEAN IT! The man (owner) came out in the middle of the conversation and said we will take care of it. Their excuse was that the pool has been closed for a while. Tell me if I'm wrong but that is no excuse for it to not be clean! Listen I don't want a free room I want you to clean your hotel! The fact that they responded with "what do you want me to do about it" was bullsh*t! That alone pissed me off! So I just went back to get my receipt and I'm charged full price for both rooms when I was told the second one would be half off. Well the owner said she didn't have permission to do that so he has to talk to her. I cant just give you a room for that. Well now on top of the filthiness of the hotel I was lied to. I told him with coronavirus you should clean it better his reply was I shouldn't even be in a pool if I feel that way. I am not scared to go out and about they need to clean their hotel! The mold on the table tells me that they barely clean it! If I would have found the mold that night I would have just left but I found it the next morning! To me they were very disrespectful! They seemed to not give a sh*t about how dirty it was! With or without the coronavirus it should not be that dirty, they should care more, and respect their customers! If you ever need to get a hotel DONT go to Best Western in Newton if you want a clean hotel! P.S. I am not one to usually to post all over about bad experiences but they were so disrespectful! That's just some of the mold that was all over the table. Sign in lobby say that employees sanitize everything. Yet there is mold growing on top of table.

FYI this hotel is closed as of 3:30PM 8/13/20 for no power. We had reservations since last August for Knoxville. We could not get anyone on the phone and main Best Western was not aware they are closed.
