“This tiny space was the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed at! It’s a hidden gem! It was big enough for me and my daughter! The hosts were amazing! Communication was great, and I highly recommend it. I had a huge headache after my daughter’s game and was tired from a long road trip to go purchase Advil, but luckily, Amy had a few emergency essentials, including Advil, which saved me the hassle! You can tell Amy and Dorian thought about everything to make their guests comfortable. In addition the neighborhood felt safe. I’ll definitely be booking with them every time I’m in town! Thanks, Amy and Dorian!”

🚂 Fun Fact Friday

Newton’s very existence is tied to the railroad! When the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad reached the area in 1871, it sparked the birth of the town and turned it into a bustling rail hub as cattle drives and freight met the tracks. Newton was officially incorporated just a year later in 1872, and folks here still joke that they’ve been “waiting on trains since 1872.” 🚉

📍 Even today, trains are a big part of life in Newton — around 40 freight and cargo trains roll through town each day, rumbling along tracks that cut right through the heart of downtown.
