Today we hosted 16 Niagara University History Students from Dr Russell's Radical Niagara Class. Thanks to two interns via the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area we have created a Dining through the Decades experience. The students got to enjoy our dry run as we prepare to hold our inaugural event this Saturday for the Great Granddaughter, Great Grandson and Great-Great Grandson of James G and Lida T Marshall, the original owners who had the home built for their family in 1913.
The evening started with a short movie about the family, their impact to this region, and Niagara Falls between the 1910's - 1960 from the family's own home movie video archives.
A tour of the home and the artifacts curated for the first floor museum was then given followed by a 5 course tasting where each course represented a decade. We are honored and overjoyed that this Fall the experience will be available to the public! It takes a village!

We were honored to provide place based education to students from the Hospitality program Thanks to for reproducing the wallet card I was given in 1996 when I worked for So that I could give one to each student. I still to this day read this card regularly and try to live by the motto "We are ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen. It's not just a work motto, it's a life motto!

We received the 2025 Preservation Award for Residential Project from Preservation Buffalo Niagara and Senator Sean M. Ryan on Thursday night.
We were so fortunate to have three people at the event who made this possible. Tom and Louise Yots lovingly restored the home and opened it as a Bed and breakfast in 1994. In 2004, thanks to their hard work, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
We decided to continue to operate it as a traditional Bed and Breakfast thanks to Ellen (who was also in attendance) and Rich, the great grandchildren of James G Marshall. Rich had sent the original table and chairs from 1914 back to the house all the way from California and Ellen had donated the 1898 wedding dress of their grandmother Lida Marshall along with a variety of other incredible artifacts that we have now curated into a small museum about the home and the family's positive impact on the region.
We are honored to be stewards of such amazing history and to be able to share it with visitors who come from all over the world to visit Niagara Falls USA
