Your favourite Christmas melodies are coming to life again this year – the story of Jesus’ birth, the experience of Mary, and a message of hope!

Fountainview Academy will be returning to Fountain of Youth RV Resort on Sunday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m. Admission is FREE. Expect a night full of inspiring Christmas music! Recently, Fountainview Academy released a new DVD – God So Loved the World: Winter. Also, in February we will be filming more Christmas favorites—and this live concert series is a sneak-preview of that production!

This small school, located in the beautiful Fraser canyon, has been training students to sing and play for the glory of God for the past 37 years. With its emphasis on music, each student is a part of the orchestra, choir, or both, and spends time practicing and in rehearsals nearly every day. Another emphasis the school has is its vigorous work program, in which students gain practical experience in areas such as cooking, cleaning, arranging music, editing videos, and taking care of the orchards and its large carrot farm, which produces approximately 1 million pounds of carrots per year.

Fountainview’s Orchestra & Singers have traveled across the continent and around the world. Students have had the opportunity to fill churches, theatres, schools, train stations, convention centres, and nursing homes with messages of hope.

During one Christmas concert last year, a man sat in the audience, wrestling with himself and the problems in his life. Fears, doubts, and questions swirled about in his mind. During the concert, a student emcee asked those in the audience to write down any prayer requests or information requests on a small card. As the man left the concert, he handed his card to one of the students in the lobby. Then, as they began to go their separate ways, the student suddenly felt impressed to read the card. It read: “I’m struggling financially, my family is falling apart . . . I can’t live like this anymore.“ Immediately this student turned around and ran in the direction the man had gone, calling, “Sir! Sir!” Dejectedly, he gazed down to meet her eyes. “Is there anything I can pray with you about before you leave?” she asked. Like a dam bursting, he voiced his long-held silent trials. His real question was: “Why would God care about me?”

Coming to FOY this season, Actress-singer Rebecca Clark becomes Barbra Streisand in this live one-woman musical, delivering all the greatest hits of the legendary singer — performed live with no sync or voice track!

Through live singing and comedic dialogue, along with playful crowd interaction, Clark captures the character and heart of Streisand, recounting her amazing journey through stage, television and film.

Performing songs from Funny Girl, A Star Is Born and Yentl, Miss Clark will include many of Streisand’s greatest hits such as “Evergreen,” “The Way We Were,” “Second Hand Rose,” “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” — and many more surprises!

Fountainview Academy Orchestra and Singers, located in British Columbia, is a group of young people who have dedicated our musical talents to spreading the Gospel. Every student at Fountainview takes part in our music. We have performed concerts all over the United States and Canada with our orchestra and singers and have filmed our music in a variety of settings. We are also blessed with the privilege of sharing our productions and some of our live concerts worldwide via television.

January 24th, 2016, Stan Corliss has been performing western music for nearly thirty years. His first album, “Westerner”, was nominated for best album by the Academy of Western Artists. He produced and directed the video, “60 Years of Harmony” the last concert by Roy Rogers and a tribute to the sixtieth anniversary of the Sons of the Pioneers. Stan performs at western festivals and concerts throughout the entire nation. He has performed with Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Sons of the Pioneers, Riders in the Sky, Rex Allen, Sr. and Jr., Don Edwards, Clint Black, Dwight Yokum, Emmy Lou Harris, Mickey Gilley, and many, many others.

This is what Danny Vernon found at a very early age when he began singing along with his Father's discarded albums unaware of Presley's vast impact in American culture. With a devout passion, Danny would sing and dance along with the King's music trusting that one day he would be recapturing his own "Illusion of Elvis" show on stage.

March 6th, 2016, We will be bringing back “Bernie and Red” Everyone needs a point of reference when trying to describe a musical or comedic style, & in the case of Bernie & Red it has been said that they are a mixture of Burns & Allen, The Smothers Brothers & Bette Midler, with a touch of Carol Burnette & a dash of Benny Hill!

These along with our FOY Drama club shows in Dec and Feb, plus our Art and Craft shows this coming season makes for and exciting and fun time to be at FOY !
