Except stop in Ninilchik for a couple days. Fish from multiple rivers and bring your catch back to us to process/freeze and have ready for travel home

🚨 The biggest Alaska road-trip mistake isn’t taking the wrong highway…

It’s trying to cover too much of it too fast.

A lot of RV travelers leave Anchorage thinking they can “do” Seward and Homer in just a few rushed days.

Technically, they can.

But they’ll miss the very things that make this drive one of the best in Alaska.

The Seward Highway alone is packed with reasons to slow down:

🐐 Dall sheep & Mountain goats along Turnagain Arm
🐋 Beluga whales in the inlet
🥾 Trails and scenic pullouts
🚡 Girdwood and the Alyeska Tram
🧊 Portage Glacier
🦬 The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center
💙 The unreal turquoise water of Kenai Lake

Then you reach Seward…

And now you need time for Kenai Fjords, wildlife cruises, fishing, kayaking, hiking, Exit Glacier, and just sitting along Resurrection Bay wondering why you almost only stayed one night.

From there, the road to Homer takes you through Cooper Landing, Soldotna, and Kenai, following some of the most beautiful country on the peninsula.

And once you get to Homer?

That’s where another couple nights disappear real quick.

🎣 Fishing charters
🐻 Bear-viewing trips
🌊 Kachemak Bay
🎨 Galleries and shops
🥾 Hiking and kayaking
🍽️ Great local food
🌋 Huge views across Cook Inlet

Here’s a much better way to do it:

Between summer construction, slower traffic, scenic pullouts, and stopping for wildlife, 150 miles in Alaska can easily take twice as long as it would back home.

Day 1: Anchorage to Seward
Days 2–3: Explore Seward
Day 4: Seward to Homer
Days 5–6: Explore Homer
Day 7: Homer back to Anchorage

Seven days is still quick—but it gives you enough room to actually experience the drive instead of just collecting town names.

Alaska rewards the travelers who slow down.

Would you spend the extra days in Seward, Homer, or split them evenly?

2026 fish fry was an epic turnout. 40lbs of halibut fried, over 80 friends and family brought sides to share. At this rate next year we will need a 3rd frier! Even though the sun wasn’t out and we didn’t get to play games, we shared stories over amazing food. Thanks to everyone again. Don’t wait to book your 2027 spot!
