LOOK UP! 🌕️ July’s Full Buck Moon rises today, July 29, reaching peak illumination at 10:36 a.m. ET. (Yes, a.m. is correct!)

The Full Moon in July is called the Buck Moon because the antlers of male deer (bucks) are in full-growth mode at this time. Bucks shed and regrow their antlers each year, producing a larger and more impressive set as the years go by.

Plants are also featured prominently in July’s Moon names. Some of our favorites are Berry Moon (Anishinaabe), Moon When the Chokecherries are Ripe (Dakota), Month of the Ripe Corn Moon (Cherokee), and Raspberry Moon (Algonquin, Ojibwe).

Between the rabbits and the drought, the flowers 🌺 at the Whitetail River Lodge didn’t make it through the summer but Kelli of Ponca Valley Petals came through with these petals from her pick-your-own patch at Lynch!

One day, your kids probably won't remember how big your biggest buck was.

They won't remember the score, the weight, or the measurements.

But they'll remember the cold mornings.
The walks through the woods.
The stories on the drive to camp.
And most of all…

they'll remember that you made time for them.

Those memories are the real trophies. 🦌❤️
