Valley Camp survived the Bomb cyclone! We want to THANK rain city tree service for the great job in tree pruning and removal this last spring. There is only a few branches on the road. The Middlefork Rd is another story. Many trees down across the road with power lines on the ground. The word is power might be back mid day today Wednesday the 20th. Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts. We appreciate them.

It's warming up but that doesn't mean that the local lakes are the best place to recreate. Make sure to pay heed to this warning from King County Freshwater Beaches:

Stay out of the water at Gene Coulon Beach (Renton), Madrona Beach (Seattle), Matthews Beach (Seattle), and Waverly Park Beach (Kirkland). Right now, the water here could make you sick. Public Health – Seattle & King County recommends that people do not swim or play in the water here.

Recent water tests found high bacteria, which means there is p**p in the water from people, pets, or wildlife. Germs from p**p in the water can cause problems such as rashes, diarrhea (watery p**p), throwing up or feeling nauseous, stomachaches, headaches, or fever. It is also possible to get an infection in your eyes, ears, nose, throat, or skin. Children, elderly people, and people with weakened immune systems have a higher risk of getting sick.

Get more information and updates about beach bacteria here:

View a map of swimming beaches at lakes in King County and look up water temperature and water quality data such bacteria levels.
