As most of the towns in the Mount Washington Valley attempt to ban short term rentals, the NH legislature will debate SB 249 on Tuesday January 25th. The Bill would define STR as a permitted use preventing towns from banning them, but would allow towns to license, regulate and charge fees for STR. If you support the protection of property right and think the number one tourist destination in New England should allow visits to stay in a home instead of a hotel, please email [email protected] saying you support SB 249. Thanks all

Our guests aren't the only ones excited to spend some time at Kearsarge Cottage this summer. A house finch has set up residency on the reef on the front porch. We won't be charging them rent, so hope the return the favor by not pooping too much on the porch. Still some weekday stretches open this summer and lots of openings starting in Sept.

Time to update the photo for summer. House is doing great with the new addition and a new roof

Cranmore indicates they have gotten over 20 inches of snow in the last few weeks, so conditions must be great. While lots of space on the winter calendar, but summer calendar is starting to fill up.

The new addition is finally done. KC is now a 5 BR, 3 bath home with two kitchens and two living rooms. Why 2 kitchens and living rooms? Well, the size of the addition was set when the prior owners put in a foundation to replace the barn and we didn't want too many bedrooms. Plus, while you may love your family, sometimes it is nice to spread out on vacation and not be too close. Alternatively, early risers can be in the original house and late sleepers can be in the addition.

Addition is coming along, exterior is mostly done, but we have closed the book after Oct. 20th to finish the interior. Will reopen for December on once it is completed. If you want to snag your favorite winter weekend for the new 5 BR house or the original 3 BR house, email us at [email protected].
