Family Affair Campground Camper’s Meeting

Good things happening in the campground
The dice run was a huge success. Travis Swabik and Autumn Schulte won in the adult category, and Wesley Wallace won for the kids’ category.
Christmas in July was another success this year. We gave a total of 62 gifts away to the children, and we had 33 golf carts in our dusk Christmas golf cart parade.
Our second annual pig roast this year turned out great. We had a fabulous day of celebrating with a basket raffle, corn hole tournament, pig roast, and amazing band to end the evening.
Carnival was another amazing weekend that we got to enjoy again this year.
The golf cart rodeo was another success this year. It was a great way to bring the campers together.
A new and exciting activity has been added to the campground for the children ages 2-12. It is called the “treasure hunt” and is played by the children finding a plastic token with “FAC” on it in the playground. They can take the tokens (up to 2 tokens per child per week) to site O-14 (Kevin and Kiona Callahan’s site) on Saturdays from 10:00 am to noon to claim a prize.
We have recently added a breaker box and receptacles at the end of the large pavilion towards the basketball court. This area will now be utilized for the activities involving food where the electric will sufficiently handle a large amount of crock pots or roasters. This will keep the area in front of the stage accessible for the band, DJs, or any activities using the stage.
Campground updates
We will remain open the first weekend of October. The leases and the $500 deposit for the 2027 season are due by September 30.

Thank you to all the campers who hosted a site for our dice run this year. Thank you to Jess Platt and Nick Geschwender for working at the ticket tables during the dice run.
Thank you to Jimmy and Ammie Platt and Jess Platt for shopping for the gifts for Christmas in July. That was no small undertaking! And thanks to Paula Stepnowski’s meticulous record keeping, they knew exactly how many gifts to buy for each age category.
Thank you to the volunteers who helped wrap the Christmas gifts: Tom and Carol Kuklinski, Jim and Kim Hessel, Nancy Brown, Joan Wolf, Denise Cochran, and Paula and Jerry Stepnowski.
Thank you to Jerry and Paula and Denise Cochran for coordinating and decorating the campground for our Christmas in July weekend.
Thank you to Ed Carter for making sure that Santa and the Grinch were able to visit us at Christmas this year!
The Elk's Charity Music Jamboree was a lot of fun this year with the bands, food, and beautiful baskets and raffles in the tent. The water run fundraiser that benefits our two local fire departments was held that weekend. A special thank you to Ella Moore for collecting donations. We raised $350, which was split between the two local fire departments, and Michele and Glenn donated another $2,000—a $1,000 donation to each of the two departments. Crescent and Fuller Hose Companies came with their trucks and hosed down the kids with colored water at the end of the water run. We are so thankful for our two volunteer fire departments! And finally, thank you to all the campers who sprayed water—this was a fun-filled water run!
A huge thank you to Rick “Dirty” Ernst for all the work he put into our pig roast. Not only did he cook the brisket and pig all night long, but he also made the delicious side dishes. He was able to successfully feed over 200 people. This event would not be possible without Dirty! His crew includes: Billy Kuhns, Adam Widger, Bobby Wheatley and Jeromie Ville.

Thank you to Missy Danzig, Tina Lubman, Kim Jennings, and Sue Casper for working all the raffles in the small pavilion that day! And this includes Pete Dregalla and Mike Lubman for their work!

Thank you to Jerry and Paula Stepnowski and Stephanie Stepnowski for the countless hours they put into our carnival celebration. Thank you to all the bakers in the campground who donated items to our delicious bake sale. And thank you to the countless volunteers who worked at the games during the carnival. It is an event that is only possible because all of our amazing campers worked together so that we could have such a special weekend.

Thank you to Bobby Saxton for designing and building the skee-ball game that we had at this year’s carnival. Paula asked Bobby if he could possibly build a skee-ball game for carnival, and he certainly did just that! It was an amazing addition to our carnival!
