Family Affair Campground Campers’ Meeting
Sunday, September 20, 2026, 11:00 a.m.
• Thank you to Paula and Jerry for their enthusiasm and participation in almost every event at the campground. There is so much time that goes into setup and takedown of the events, and Jerry and Paula are always there. Their weekly schedule updates and inspirations on our campground sign are so encouraging. Their involvement touches almost every event from organizing the haunted barn, the w**e and cheese party, wrapping and organizing the Christmas gifts in July, organizing the haunted barn, organizing the basket raffle and spaghetti dinner fundraiser, selling 50/50 tickets, cooking the corn for our special dinners, the pancake and omelet-in-a-bag breakfasts—the list is endless. From the time that camp opens until it closes, you can be sure that Paula and Jerry will be involved in some fashion. When they finally get to take a break from their involvement, you can find them in front of a campfire at their site.
• Thank you to Jimmy and Ammie Platt for their dedication to our campground. They organize the bands and DJ for the entire summer of our musical enjoyment. We can thank Jimmy and Ammie for volunteering at the chance auction drawings, purchasing the donuts we enjoy for Mother’s and Father’s Day breakfasts, selling 50/50 tickets, purchasing the gifts for Santa for the various age groups for Christmas in July, creating the treasurer’s reports, making the meatballs for the basket raffle and spaghetti dinner fund raiser, and getting the supplies for the delicious pancakes and omelet-in-a-bag breakfasts. If you are enjoying the music on a Friday or Saturday night, Jimmy and Ammie did that, so be sure to thank them when you see them hanging out at the bonfire.
• Thank you to Bill and Jodi Roberts always being there to lend a hand if it’s needed. Bill and Jodi are always generous with their equipment to help do both large and small jobs at the campground. For everything from mowing the grass to helping move the big campers, Bill and Jodi are always there to make sure that the job gets done. They are very generous, and our July 4th fireworks would not be what it is without their generosity. The pig roast is another example of their commitment to successful events at the campground as they donated the b**r and the brisket for this awesome event. If you are at the dance floor on a Friday or Saturday night, be sure to thank Bill and Jodi for the two disco lights that they donated to the campground!
• Thank you to Kari Moore for her contributions to the success of our July 4th fireworks display.
• Rick “Dirty” Ernst for all the work he put into our pig roast. Not only did he cook the brisket and pig all night long, but he also made the delicious side dishes. He was able to successfully feed over 300 people. This event would not be possible without Dirty! His crew includes: Billy Kuhns, Adam Widger, Bobby Wheatley and Jeromie Ville. Thank you for adding to this spectacular event by cooking wood-fire pizzas the night before for the campers to enjoy.
• Mike and Amber Hammon for donating fireworks to our July 4th firework celebration! We can also thank Mike and Amber for always making sure that the campground store is well stocked with ice. Another huge thank you to Mike and Amber for organizing our Veteran Appreciation Day event.
• North East VFW Post 4789 and American Legion Post 105 for the presentation and their speeches during our Veterans Appreciation Day Celebration this year.
• Phil and Pam Ostrowski for bringing pallets for our weekly bon fires! We wouldn’t have the amazing fires without Phil and Pam’s dedication to our campground! If Phil sees pallets, he is sure to stop and load his truck up and bring them out. If they do not fit in his truck, he will load them in his work flatbed! Another huge thank you to them for all the work they put into the haunted barn. If you went through the haunted barn, you would have passed through their two extremely decorated rooms.
• Dawn Brown for scheduling our food trucks this year, along with the doormat sip and paint. Our campers loved the food trucks! It was a great addition to our activities.
• Evan Torres and his entire family for all the hours they have invested in our bingo program—from organizing the bingo cards to bringing in the beautiful hanging baskets, to cleaning the pavilion. Their dedication to our campground is definitely noticed and appreciated! After the passing of Linda Hulbert, Evan really took over the bingo program. Thank you also to his three daughters, Lillie, Raylynn, and Ivy, for always being there to lend a helping hand in any way that they can. The girls even help stock the campground firewood! We wouldn’t have our bingo program without Evan and his family.
• Steve Wilkinson for being the auctioneer at our annual spaghetti dinner and basket auction fundraiser event. This fundraiser benefits our two local fire departments: Fuller Hose Co and Crescent Hose Co.
• Steve Wilkinson, Steven Wilkinson and Kim Jennings for being our first responders at the campground. Their level of commitment is so much appreciated.
• Dave Andrychowski, Renee Conway, and Missy Danzig’s daughter, Courtney Proctor, who drove their three red, white and blue Jeeps at the front of our annual July 4th golf cart parade.
• Trever Swabik for driving his tractor for our 2 ½ hour hayride event on Halloween weekend, along with Amy, Travis and Trader for coordinating the details to make this event so successful.
• Brian Fisher who donated the use of his hay for this year’s Halloween hayride.
• Amy, Travis, Trader and Trever Swabik for always being there to help with activities, events and projects at the campground whenever needed.
• The Erie Elks Club and Greg Kindle for presenting FAC with special recognition and honor for properly flying the United States flag at the campground. We have the certificate hanging in our camp store!
• Aiden Moore for mowing at the campground this summer. And Aslyn Moore for watering our newly-planted trees and misc. cleanup throughout the campground.
• Ken and Tammra Norfolk for driving around the campground in their golf cart on Sundays to pick up any misc garbage left around the campground.
• Dave Brine who is always there helping at our pancake breakfasts.
• Dave and Terri Brine, Jerry and Paula Stepnowski, June Flanders, and Nancy Brown for donating their time to the omelet-in-a-bag breakfast. And Jess Platt for her organization and hustle in making all the special toast orders for this event!
• Kevin Callahan for donating the amazing karaoke equipment to our monthly karaoke festivities. If you are here at camp for any night, you can be sure to hear Kevin’s group singing karaoke at their site promptly ending at 11:00 pm.
• Bernie Cessna for organizing our monthly karaoke, along with our first adult swim and karaoke event this year. Thank you to Doan Cessna for making the amazing spring rolls for the adult swim and karaoke.
• Bonnie Carter, Megan Carter, and Taylor Delaughter for judging this year’s Halloween costume contest.
• Thank you to all the contestants who entered the contest with their wonderful costumes that we were able to have this fun event.
• Ben Stepnowski for designing our new PA system that every campers gets to enjoy at the campground.
• Al Brolaski for all the electrical expertise that he supplies to the campground for the time that he spent in hooking up our new PA system.
• Thank you to the campers who entered our first annual chili cookoff event. Billy Kunz, Tina Lubman and Bonnie Carter took 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. The other chefs were: Bob Saxton, Evan Torres, Emilio Vasui, Ella Moore, Dirty Danzig, Natalie Ditzler, Tim Bielanin, Karen VanTassel, Marge Figurski, and Steve Hart. Thank you to the campers who came down and supported this fun event. A special thank you to our five judges: Jerry Stepnowski, Phil Ostrowski, Frank Stora, Keith Jennings, and Greg Kindle who had the tough job of choosing the winners.
• Justin Hayes for hosting our first annual 90s country night, our first annual disco night, and all the other nights that he serves as our DJ. Justin’s enthusiasm for playing our music and making sure that the campers are having a great time is greatly appreciated.
• Thank you to all the campers who came down and participated in our 90s country and disco events this summer, especially those two dressed up.
• Matt Bolinger for removing all the scrap metal that gets dropped off at our dumpsters.
• Patty Andrychowski for teaching our country line dancing lessons. We get to see the dances in action each week at camp.
• Joni Catalfu for helping keep the snack table going all evening during our adult cheese party.
• Jimmy and Ammie Platt, Jess Platt, Adriana Platt, Jen Geraci, and Jaedyn Geraci for organizing the chance auctions and sitting in the pavilion all day during these events. It takes a huge amount of dedication to sell tickets during these events and then check off the winners as Glenn and Jimmy pull the winning tickets.
• Jack Diorazio, Skylar, and Trader and Trever Swabik for helping with the fireworks.
• Jess Platt, Ammie Platt and Nick Geschwender for working at the ticket tables during the dice run this season.
• Tom and Carol Kuklinski, Jim and Kim Hessel, Nancy Brown, Joan Wolf, Denise Cochran, and Paula and Jerry Stepnowski for wrapping all our Christmas gifts for our Christmas in July celebration.
• Jimmy and Ammie Platt and Jess Platt for spending an entire Sunday shopping for the Christmas gifts that we give away during our Christmas in July event.
• Ed Carter for making sure that Santa and the Grinch were able to visit us at Christmas this year!
• Ella Moore and Juliet Woodward for collecting donations for our annual water run at the Elk’s Charity Music Jamboree. All proceeds were given to Crescent and Fuller Hose Companies.
• Jerry and Paula Stepnowski, Joni Catalfu, Al Brolaski, Ammie Platt, Jess Platt, and Stephanie Stepnowski for volunteering as servers for the pig roast.
• Missy Danzig, Tina Lubman, Kim Jennings, and Sue Casper for working all the raffles in the small pavilion that day! And this includes Pete Dregalla and Mike Lubman for their work!
• Steve Ring for donating the incredible custom-made fire pit and for serving as the event’s MC.
• Kelsy and Kyle Yost and Bob Parker for organizing our corn hole tournaments this season.
• Jerry and Paula Stepnowski and Stephanie Stepnowski for the countless hours they put into our carnival celebration. Thank you to all the bakers in the campground who donated items to our delicious bake sale. And thank you to the countless volunteers who worked at the games during the carnival. It is an event that is only possible because all of our amazing campers worked together so that we could have such a special weekend.
• Thank you to John Speck, Dirty Ernst and Ben Stepnowski for working all day Saturday at our “Snack Attack” booth during the carnival event.
• Sue Brolaski and June Flanders for running the bake sale. The homemade bake sale is a special treat that we only get once a year.
• Mary Jo Goodban for donating her homemade pies to our chance auctions! Everyone wanted to win her pies!
• Stephanie Stepnowski and Joan Wolf for manning the redemption booth both Friday night and all day Saturday at our carnival this season. And another huge thank you to Stephanie for the countless hours that she donated to organizing our carnival event.
• Bobby Saxton for designing and building the skee-ball game that we had at this year’s carnival. Paula asked Bobby if he could possibly build a skee-ball game for carnival, and he certainly did just that! It was an amazing addition to our carnival!
• Megan Carter for designing the amazing decal for our new “sucker pull” game at our carnival.
• Bonnie Carter, Cheryl Delaughter and Taylor Delaughter for all the work they put into organizing our golf cart rodeo this year. And thank you to Bev and Jim Russell and Ed Carter for being their lovely assistants!
• Kevin and Kiona Callahan for hosting the Treasure Hunt activity this year and supplying the prizes to the children who found the specially-made FAC poker chips in the playground.
• Thank you to Jerry and Paula Stepnowski, Bill Hutzler, Don Golden, Mike Rodland, Phil Ostrowski and Jeff Sheward for helping building the walls for our carnival and haunted barn events.
• Phil and Pam Ostrowski, Trever Swabik, Trader Swabik, Conner Vascovich, John Losekamp, Juliet Woodward, Ella Moore, Amber Yovanovish, Dirty Ernst, Missy Danzig and Jimmy Platt for organizing the haunted barn rooms. Thank you to Pete Dregalla, Denise Cochran and Adam Hayes for serving as guides in the haunted barn. Paula Stepnowski for working at the admittance door. And to the COUNTLESS volunteers who added to the evening’s fright in the haunted barn.
• Thank you to our amazing campers for selling the 50/50 tickets each weekend: Paula and Jerry Stepnowski, Jimmy and Ammie Platt, Marge and Greg Figurski, and Dave and Patty Andrychowski. It requires a huge dedication to sell the tickets, and we couldn’t do it without our volunteers. And thank you to all the campers who purchase the tickets each week!
• Tom Barton for custom designing and making our flag holders that every camper can see and appreciate as they pull into the campground.
• Amy and Travis Swabik, Jerry and Paula Stepnowski, Amber Hammon and Jack Diorazio for helping serve dinner at our end-of-summer picnic.
• Keri Fohner for helping with cleanup at our end-of-summer picnic. And thank you to Ivy for serving the ice cream cones during the picnic yesterday!
• Steve Gibbs and Bobby Saxton for their help in setting up our annual horseshoe tournament. With all the rain this year, the horseshoe pits were filled with water the day before the event, but because Steve and Bobby worked tirelessly at the pits, we were able to correct any problems—and the event was a huge success!
• We would like to thank every camper who volunteered this season at the campground. No matter how great or small your contribution, your involvement is appreciated. The list is endless and includes but is certainly not limited to:
Helping decorate the pavilion for Easter, July 4th, Christmas and Halloween.
Decorating your sites for all the holidays that we celebrate at camp.
Supervising the Easter egg hunt.
Donating food to our pot luck dinner.
Serving food at any of our dinners.
Donating items to our chance auctions.
Participating in our Halloween celebration, including dressing up, handing out candy, decorating your site, and helping with the haunted barn.
Donating baskets for our theme basket auctions.
Purchasing 50/50 tickets.
Purchasing basket raffle items at our pig roast and dice run.
Purchasing tickets at our chance auctions.
Supporting our spaghetti dinner fundraiser by donating a theme basket, attending the dinner, and bidding/purchasing a theme basket.
